Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Learn how to grow coneflowers, if they require deadheading, which birds eat coneflower seeds, and everything else you need to know to grow them like a pro.
I had to move this plant to an elevated flower box b/c the rabbits kept eating it. Now I finally got to see it bloom and it is the pretty pink color from the photo. The color does fade fairly quickly so I haven't been able to get a photo of it in its prime.
Plants came in healthy & green despite the heat. They took off very well. No problems. They are currently blooming.
Quality of plants!
Sadly, it was above 90 degrees when these plants were shipped here. I followed all the directions, watered them, kept inside for a few days so they would be less shocked, they planted them along with the phlox I also received at the same time. The phlox are adjusting well, but all of these are very dead

My local garden centers never have double coneflowers, so I'm grateful I can get them from GGP for a decent price. This year, I'm adding rainbow sherbet and butter pecan. They all arrived healthy, and the butter pecan is already blooming in its little cans. I can't wait to see them bulk up next year!
