Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

I am very disappointed with my 3 plants. As a Michigander I was excited to order from a Michigan nursery but these plants are tiny and the leaves are discolored and curling. I will be surprised if they survive and will not order again from this company. Overpriced for the small size and poor quality.

I ordered 6. They are doing well. I'm very happy with the plants I have received. I had also gotten16 Sunset Weigela. Everything is doing great.
The plant looked on the poorly side when it arrived but a little water and it shaped up right away. It is a fantastic plant and looks well in our front yard. I look forward to watching it grow. Thanks!!!
Very healthy Blue Kazoo specimens. They're already sprouting new growth. Worth the money! Will order from them again.
I ordered two of these plants in the quart size. One arrived looking robust and healthy. The other one was very spindly and much smaller. I immediately repotted to a one gallon container and they are both growing and looking really nice with their cool blue/teal foliage. They are still very small, but I am excited to see them mature and flower next year. I wish that GGP would not send out spindly plants and only send full grown ones out. I’m sure the little one will catch up to its sister plant eventually. I do love Spireas and happy to get unique ones that I could never find locally.
