Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

 How To Grow Soil: Needs well-draining soil. Thrives even in sandy to gravelly soils of moderate to low fertility.
Light: Does best in full sun but appreciates some protection from harsh sun and heat exposure in very hot summer regions.
Water: Medium to dry. Considered drought-tolerant once established. Overwatering will impair growth.
Spacing: 2 - 4 inches
Fertilizing: On average, sedum seldom needed to be fertilized. A handful of all-purpose granular fertilizer sprinkled on the soil each spring is generally all that is needed for poorer soils. If growing in rich soil, it should only be fertilized every other year. Dry granular fertilizers must be watered into the soil.
Winterizing: Does not need mulch in the winter. Remove the debris (such as the remains of showy sedums) from under and around your plants in the late fall and continue to remove any debris as it accumulates. Small animals and bugs may take home in accumulated debris during cold weather.
Maintenance & Pruning: Can cut back in Autumn, after flowering. Divide in spring.

The first sod i received was not in good shape. I sent pictures of it to the company as I was unpacking it. They immediately sent me a replacement. The replacement arrived in absolutely beautiful condition.

You need to have better support for the upper flat of sedum so the lower flat doesn’t get crushed.

Sedum sod

What a great ground cover!! I planted on a hilly location to help stop erosion. Sod is growing beautifully & I can’t wait until it spreads and covers completely!

Where’s the red

I ordered quite a bit of this because picture shows a good representation of red. Nope. Hardly any. Also beware, in spring a certain variety will grow 4-5” stalks that overwhelm the rest. I scissored them off. Gave it a third star because it did winter well in northern KY and was evergreen.

Like others have posted, what you get is not what’s in the pic. It’s a different variety. Also, they come withered, crushed, and half dead. Look elsewhere.
