Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

Description Much like its dessert namesake, ‘Red Velvet’ Monarda will leave you wanting more. These fun, cherry red flowers will give you a pop of color for weeks in the heat of summer. ‘Red Velvet’ is the tallest Monarda we carry! With it’s sturdy stems and loads of blooms, this Bee Balm does great in borders or as a colorful addition to a pollinator garden. All of this coupled with good deer resistance and an improved mildew resistance make bee balm flowers a fantastic addition to your garden.

As a North American native, bee balm is a durable perennial that multiplies well in moist soil and full sun. While they typically bloom in the summer heat, their sturdy stems will keep the flowers upright and shining. Their fragrant, colorful blooms attract all sorts of pollinators to the garden, but mint-like foliage deters deer and other pests. Hi guys! Just opened the box of gorgeous flowers that I ordered and I am excited to get them into the ground once I’m able. Haven’t ordered for a couple of years and not because of you. I’ve been out of the world and I’m now back in it. Ready to plant! Noticed a lot of bad reviews coming in and most were about shipping. Now I know why! Strongly recommend using a stamp for up arrows and red stickers for live plants/handle with Care! These guys were tossed around like popcorn; dirt everywhere dirt falling out of Potts exposed roots, you name it. Love You guys and hope you continue great work! Please heed my recommendation!
