Love my plants

Dry with dead leaves and branches, bare branches and leaf loss.

Very disappointing

Tater Tot Arborvitae

I bought three of the Tater Tot Arborvitae to plant in my foundation planting bed. I previously purchased five of the Tater Tot, and they are about three years old. The new "Tots" came well packaged and look healthy. After planting the new plants, they are doing well, and I look forward to watching them grow. They are so cute!

Growing well

Arrived packaged well. Look great and have even survived a deer tasting. Our deer here eat everything at least once.

Absolutely beautiful!

After replacing with a larger plant, this one is amazing

Great plant, came intact and healthy

The first thing I do is inspect the root system of the plants I purchase. Great Garden Plants sent me mature cuttings with a robust root system on both my Brown Turkey and CH. The figs came quickly and were packaged well. Some foliage loss is inevitable and acceptable. Thanks for caring about your business and clientele.

Initial growth success

I live in the Northeast, Zone 6, and was a bit skeptical to planting a young rose in September. After reading more about the At Lat Rose and seeing reviews, I decided to take a chance and purchase 3, all in gallon size. They have been in the ground for juts over 3 weeks and there is noticeable growth all on 3. In fact, one produced a blossomed rose already! Very happy with this purchase and look forward to Spring when growth reemerges.

Lavandula

I bought 6 plants about a month ago. Overall, it has been 50/50. Three of the plants look great. However, the other three appear as if they are dying despite the same care provided and being in the same place with the same soil.

Birthday plants

Our plants arrived healthy and transplanted well. Enjoying their view overlooking Central Virginia and our hayfield.

Arrived looking dead and did not

Arrived looking dead and did not survive, even when watered and kept away from harsh sun

First Time Disappointed with GGP-

The 3 catmint plants were dry and crumpled while the other three plants were as I would expect from your company.
The packer should had known better to put half deaf plants in the box to ship cause they were definitely totally dead when I got them.
Hopefully the other 3 make it.

Beautiful green blanket

I’m having a very hard time controlling where this spreads. It’s trying to make my garden its garden.

All 5 have dropped their leaves 🍃 and look dead

I planted them the day I received them into quart pots with bagged garden soil, crown was at or just above the soil @level , watered lightly to settle the soil, and kept in a warm bright location out of direct sun. All 5 look dead. Very disappointed!!

Tony tuff stuff hydrangeas

Ordered 3 of these beautiful little bushes the end of September. I was pleasantly surprised at how green and lush they were upon arrival. We planted them the next day with root stimulator and then we went into a Midwest heat wave. It has been extremely hot ever since they were planted. We have kept them watered and weekly applied root stimulator. They are looking fabulous. Can’t wait to see them bloom next year. We are extremely pleased with the quality of these bushes.

Fairytale White Cascade Hydrangea

★★★★★ Excellent Quality — Healthy and True to Description
I purchased the Fairytrail™ White Cascade Hydrangea (1 Gallon), and this plant exceeded my expectations. It arrived full, vibrant, and well-rooted — exactly what a 1-gallon Proven Winners hydrangea should look like. The foliage was lush, stems strong, and it adapted immediately once potted.
This plant clearly reflects the description and photos provided on the company’s website. The size and maturity were accurate, and it was ready to enhance my garden right away — a noticeable difference from the smaller quart-sized plants I ordered previously.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the health and quality of this 1-gallon hydrangea. If you want a plant that makes an immediate impact and matches what’s advertised, this size is definitely the better investment.

Incredible Storm Proof

★☆☆☆☆ Misleading and Disappointing Purchase — Not as Advertised
I purchased the Incrediball Storm Proof Hydrangea (1 Quart) from Great Garden Plants for $21.99 x 4 and what arrived was shockingly small — just a few leaves on short stems, resembling a newly rooted cutting rather than a developed shrub. The size and maturity of the plant were not consistent with the website’s photos or descriptions.
The company’s marketing claims that their 1-quart Proven Winners shrubs have “excellent branching for a full look in the garden” and are “perfect for vigorous growth.” That is extremely misleading. The plant I received is nowhere near garden-ready — it looks months, if not an entire season, away from resembling what’s pictured online. For the same price, I purchased a hydrangea at Home Depot that was fully grown, in bloom, and ready for the landscape. The difference is drastic.
While I understand that plant size can vary, this was not a small seasonal variation — it was a misrepresentation of product quality and value. Customers deserve honest photos and accurate expectations, especially when paying premium prices. Based on this experience, I would not recommend ordering from this company unless they commit to greater transparency about the true size and maturity of their plants.

We’re sorry you’re not satisfied with your plants! On each product page and our plant sizes page, we note that all of our plants are young. The size of our plants varies depending on the time of year and whether they were recently trimmed. The most important thing when purchasing plants, online or in garden centers, is a full and robust root system, which we prioritize. Trimming only encourages stronger root development! Our fall guarantee covers plants received after September 1 until May 2026, so we have you covered. Please send your order number and pictures of your plants to claims@greatgardenplants.com to start the claims process if necessary. We look forward to helping! https://bit.ly/ggp-guarantee

Pink Turtlehead

Plant is very small with 1stem and 2 leaves.
It’s a little disappointing. It’s doing ok. I’ll have to wait til spring. My past order of plants were a lot more substantial.
